The best way to do that is create a flight, shut everything off and save it, that way when you load your saved flight, everything is off

There's a small .flt file available on simV or avsim which starts your flights with all systems off. Can't remember the name of it, though!

You mean the 'Cold startup' Gauge? I think it's in the gauges section

yup. it's veeeeeeery useful. but it sucks adding that gauge line to the panel.cfg. you're asking why? i recently had to re-install my FS 2002 and all of my add-on planes... :P

New people are joining all the time and won't know all the answers so I would tend to disagree.

No, I have a non-gauge file which starts up every flight with the engines off, and it's called fltsim.flt. It resides in my D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\flights\other folder, and I can email it to anyone who PMs me their email address.

Unfortunately I don't remember the author of this file!

that was my point. with all the new people joining it would save them the time of having to search for a topic with the answer  or having to write a whole new topic, with it being a sticky up the top that would save them alot of time.
this really wasnt meant to be offensive to anyone

THAT is a fine suggestion!! How about a FAQ list in the forum environment in its full title so dumb clucks like me can less nervously negotiate a new environment or

White on White fly all night.

Red on White you're alright.

Red on Red you'll soon be dead.

DILLI . . . who?

Something else that could be in the FAQ under this title could be links to different places you can acquire the "Dark Cockpit" gauge.

I downloaded it a few months ago, and have since added it to only a few craft, but it makes a large difference in some aircraft that have overpowered engines (they tend to roll forward without any power applied)
