I think alot of people agreed, that to begin with the idea was actually quite an interesting one. Put a group of strangers into a house and see how they interact with each other for a few weeks. Good little science experiment that can be broadcast on TV. Did I watch? no, far more important things to do. But one series, I could sort of understand. Now though its just gotten so stupid that its clear TV bosses are desperate for viewers going to further lengths to get them. :-/

Nah its good, there seems to be some fashion amoung certain groups of people to slate Reality TV...but it is great...trashy i agree...but great.

Im sorry but some of you guys are so judgemental and opinionated, it is actually kinda annoying! Who are you to call them freaks/loonies?(and thats not a rhetorical question, do tell me why you think your so much better than them...)

Speaking of big brother, I am actually surprised to see that the majority of the American population likes to see long, boring, pointless, and [mostly] dumb reality shows about people's personal and private lives [in rare cases they show people changing] being broadcasted through television for more than 3 million strangers to watch.

But when it comes to the "actual" big brother [cough]NSA[/cough]CIA[//cough], people freak out "for real".

What's wrong with this picture? :-/

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "reality" TV stinks.

What's "real" about a bunch of narcissists pretending to be candid (or simply being total jerks, because that's what people like to watch) in order to get some money and maybe start some sort of career  in show biz?
Yawwwnnnn...

Only show I liked in that genre was the Surreal Life. Putting Ron Jeremy and Tammy Faye Baker under the same roof was brilliant TV.

I once had the misfortune of watching an episode of the Australian version, uncensored.

One of the things I learned:

Whats the best alternative to shampoo? V*ginal wash.

I watched American seasons 2, 4, 6, and my mom is making me watch 7, the all star one.

two ws pretty good, four sucked, and 6 wasn't bad excapt for howie and Janelle. as they have progressed on to 7, so has Kasar, now thats a battle right there.

otherwise reality TV sucks. apprentice was good for the first season. thats it, all the rest was drama. and the only other reality TV i used to watch was the Amazing Race. now that was cool stuff. now it's just find a clue, drive, find a clue, fly, find a clue, rest, ride a donkey, get clue... it's all just clues.

i don't understand where people get the thrill of other people goin at it against each other. you woul wonder why the hell people are laughing at you if you got into a fight with your (insert person here).

uggh... GET RID OF SURVIVOR ALREADY! ditto with that desparate housewives show, YAWN.

Sounds like the people in Denmark are more intelligent than the average TV viewer. ;)

Let's face it, this is cheap TV. Nobody forces you to watch it. The fact is that if nobody watched it they would be forced to show something more worthwhile.

good point. but they throw it in our faces at the same time. we are reaching the limit's of reality TV when i saw the ad for "Fox Reality Channel" and i start hearing news through my local news.

and the idea of "reality TV", it's not even close, far from it.

we need to get into another sitcom area or something. i hate turning on the TV these days, with all sorts of reality shows on all hours of the day.

btw, the only reason i watched the casting call for "so you think you can dance" is because my friend made it to the Vegas eliminations.

and desperate housewives... thats all i'll say on the matter, thank you.

The reason I rarely watch TV these days. It seems to me that the more channels you have the less choice there actually is. I preferred it when we had two channels & broadcasting was limited to a few hours in the evening. They used to show programmes worth watching in those days. It's obvious that now they have countless different channels broadcasting 24 hours a day they simply don't have enough material to fill the schedules without constant repeats & all this rubbish.
