In my World Cult/World Lit class, we actually had to do an assignment just like this. I got to work with two other guys though, so we had Optimus Prime and Megatron destroying a small village in a thermo-nuclear battle.

I found a forum once a long time ago where people had a story going like that. Any forum member could contribute and write a few paragraphs picking up where the last person left off. So of course I joined the forum. In three paragraphs I took a cute story about an old retired couple in a farm house and turned it into an episode of the X-Files, complete with alien bounty hunters.
