Per - http://naihc.org/hemp_information/hemp_facts.html

HISTORY FACTS

*Hemp has been grown for at least the last 12,000 years for fiber (textiles and paper) and food. It has been effectively prohibited in the United States since the 1950s.

*George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper.

*When US sources of "Manila hemp" (not true hemp) was cut off by the Japanese in WWII, the US Army and US Department of Agriculture promoted the "Hemp for Victory" campaign to grow hemp in the US.

*Because of its importance for sails (the word "canvass" is rooted in "cannabis") and rope for ships, hemp was a required crop in the American colonies.

As fun as they are many of these have been debunked as false internet bull.

Some are true however. As will all such lists, you must be skeptical.

I happen to know, as H has already pointed out, that 21 is untrue...I saw an episode of QI which had a section on that (for those who don't know, QI is a comedy panel show based upon debunking popular myths...)...apparently there are 2 words in the English language that rhyme with purple...'curple' is one...apparently it's an item that has some association with horses, can't remember more than that...and nor can I remember the other word...might've been 'surple', like H said...

Having said that, I love lists like these... ;)

Actually, he'd mispronounced syrup as surple for lack of a proper rhyme. However, rhyming doesn't have to be limited to single words nor multiple syllables:
Purple nurple? Also known as a "nipple twist"... the act of taking a person's nipple between the thumb and forefinger and then twisting it around.
The pinch of her pull
Turned it all purple.
