I've been browned off many times but never browned out to my knowledge.

PS. Browned off is a little more polite than the version of the expression starting with P in common use today.

It might mean that where you come from but when I was a lad "browned off" meant 'fed up'. For example: I'm browned off with all these people messing around with a perfectly good language...........!
