After 2 years;

Postby H » Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:44 am

As many of you know, I became one of the jobless here when I lost my job of ~10 years near the end of 2009; there were only two temporary part time jobs of over a month in 2010 (U.S. Census) and 2011 CAP placement). I've also been walking or bicycling the distances (except for the census job) for much of the past few years; a five or six mile trip one way is a bit much when the weather drops below freezing -- especially with a hefty wind chill but I now have a vehicle (unfortunately, gasoline-powered).
Part time, but weekly, I've now been working at (click px):

Hi!

Congratulations.  Getting back to real work after a long time away is not easy (I am trying to do so myself).  And cycling and stuff is good exercise too.

Hope it works out!  Just don't stop playing Fsx altogether!

Many thanks!

...cycling and stuff is good exercise, too.
That's another downside with a self-powered vehicle and below freezing temperatures -- the need for additional exercise.

Just don't stop playing Fsx altogether!
Actuallly, I think I lost the only application of FSX (the trial program) when my last computer was blitzed -- and my main dabbling is still with the old CFS1 program (although I've disks for FS95, FS98, FS2k2 Pro, FS2k4 and CFS2). I also lost much of my addition work (newly textured and edited acft, scenery, dp object edits, etc., for CFS1 and CFS2). Currently, I've been slowly redoing my scenery for Roi-Namur on an older computer but my time is now concerned with rebuilding the entrance section to my rental (an old-time summer cottage which my landlady says she'll subtract from my rent for the upgrade/repair); the ground slightly grades downhill to it and they built it with the floor level the ground; I've already raised the floor (not finished the surface yet) and worked on the somewhat rotted door and doorway the past two days; cold weather slows down the caulking seal but it should be ready for weather-stripping tomorrow.
Hmmn... if left as was, the water never got deep enough for swimming -- but I could have let it freeze for an inside mini-skating rink.
