Sci-fi becoming fact

Postby ozzy72 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 9:08 am

Some of our older members might remember a not terribly brilliant Tom Sellick film Runaway, the baddie had a gun that fired bullets that could steer themselves and were heat seeking.
Well the fantasy is a step closer.... does rather take the fun out of the snipers course though!

Now if someone can just hurry up and make me a light sabre and a Millenium Falcon ;D ;D ;D

I'm well aware of the larger guided munitions, it is the fact that it is coming down to rifle sized calibre that amazes me 8-)
It often seems to me that someone dreams up an idea in a film or book and then years later some scientist(s) make it! Maybe there should be a case put forward for teaching Futurology ;D
Now to design some James Bond style optional extra's for my new car [smiley=evil.gif]

Speing of sci fi becoming a reality, What is with the Russian and American scientists. They need to watch more movies because they clearly are constantly trying to find new ways to eliminate us ;D.
But this really is a plot out of a horror movie. Soviet/Russian/American/scientist, do something silly, Something gets out and the rest is history ;) :D
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Well, Jules Vernes had an atomic powered sub. How long did it take the modern world to get theirs?
