"The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any".

I bet you have to scroll down to know who said that? It would seem that it is an age old problem that is still in denial..........

Sadly true Matt, luckily we have much smarter young people around here who are polite, well mannered and frequently as crazy as "old farts".
That said I'm a good manners fascist with my kids. My in-laws find it funny sometimes how many times I say please and thank you, as I mirror translate to Hungarian and they use these words about 2000% less than your average Brit ;D ;D ;D

I have been raised since i was a child to say thank you(now thanks) You are welcome e.t.c and in real life I always do especially when offered something you smile and say no thanks cause as the Robot Orvis said "Humans Smile to avert threat"
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. :P

Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

"Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!" - Sen. John Blutarsky

You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I don't understand what's gone wrong with it. - George Hanson, 1969

I get the feeling as we get older we obsess more and more with moral decline of the coming generations.
Then I look back at photos of me in my uniformed days and remember a lot of the things I did that would have my grandparents doing about 12000 rpm in their graves (actually grandad Arthur would be sitting there laughing like a drain, he had that manic sense of humour). I didn't turn out too badly all things considered.
I think a lot of older people forget that to be old and wise you first have to be young and stupid ;D ;D ;D How else do we learn?

in ireland well, thats a different story.
kids still wear uniforms to school(but most wear their training uniform since the school jumpers are like potatobags infested with lice, they are so itchy here.)
but some of the parents...
the neighbour alway comands to everybody else like:mark let the dogs out! and:micheal cut down those braches.
and she is just STUPID.
we where on a holiday, one day after they where in charge, the rabbit escaped because the left the cage open, they cut down the nice tree in the middle of summer, now it looks like massive cactus ruining the view, and they left the ones that where already ruining the view.when she has to leave the dogs out she just lets them loose and fakes them escaping.
and there is the most stupid message ever on a sign:

we got a stable maraige.
i work like a horse and he is a STUBORN OLD MULE.

its the opposite way around realy...

My mother always says that the problem is that some people believe the way they were raised is the correct way. They were raised and were treated badly they feel better when they take it out on the younger generation :( And that's not the way to do it. The only way you can change that is if you do it differently when you grow up and become a role model ;).

Even here in the most expensive and best private schools (the public are mostly 8-4-4 system never done it, Never will) They wear uniform but it's not That bad :-/

I lost my pet Rotterman 2 years ago and our family is still recovering :'( So I feel your pain :'(

Just hang in there. My aunt an air hostess says no matter what the customer says or does you always have to smile and be respectful :P. I think the same applies to you.
