An unbranded bovine of either sex is called a "maverick" in the USA and Canad

And suddenly Tom Cruise' character in Top Gun seems less cool.

There was a TV show called Maverick many years ago. 40 years later I find out what maverick means. Unbranded.

I thought I was a bit late finding out with the later movie on TV. Glad you were able to garner that infromation.
