My workday...

Postby Jayhawk Jake » Fri Jun 10, 2011 6:32 pm

...involved walking around the Cessna factory for an hour looking at business jets being built "to be more familiar with what we are working on".

I was bored, still in training and everything, and ran out of things to read.  I asked my mentor if I could go over to the factory and walk around and she said 'sure, anytime you want to.  I suggest you pay close attention to [insert plane here]'.  :D

I wish I could tell you guys what I'm actually going to be working on, but it's secret.  Maybe in a few years ;)

I'll trade jobs with you any day.

My typical day consists of dealing with highly educated jerks who are paid by the hour to make my life miserable.

They are called "opposing counsel".

I always remember that classic line in Bee Movie with the mosquito at the end "I was already a blood sucking insect, all I was lacking was the brief case" ;D ;D ;D
Remember it is 99% of lawyers that give the rest a bad name ;)

I personally have no beef with the legal types, my lawyer in Hungary is an exceptional lady and close family friend (I taught her daughter). My lawyer in the UK is blind and uses that to his advantage as he has a memory that'd impress a Cray 2! Geezer 8-)
That said the only thing funnier than a lawyer joke is a nun joke in this moderators opinion ;D ;D ;D

My working day night involved taking complaints and insults  ;D

All in the name of providing a good customer service  :(

Home at 3.30am, ready to go again tomorrow  ;D  Would you like my job?

My workday consisted of filling selves with 7up products at various stores including three wal-marts. And answering stupid questions.

By the way, anyone who says that "There is no such thing as a stupid question" has obviously never worked in retail.

Thank god for my other job! Tomorrow I will most likely replace an exhaust gasket on a Piper Cherokee 180 if it has not been done already. After that, who knows? We have a Cub and at least one Champ due for anuuals here soon, I might get to see one of them or both. :)

Jake, just read through the thread again. Is it such a wise thing to do, tell the WWW that you are or that are going to be working on what is effectively an industrial secret. You never know who could read that and try get advantage or what websites and blogs that your employer keeps an eye on. Just a though  :)
