The Xmas brag

Time to post what goodies you got...
I've had to treat myself to a massive new monitor for my new PC and a GTX 580 video card to go with it as the PC is coming with a Raedon :P
DVDs and books aplenty and some bits for the mighty Kwaka (of course) along with the usual array of chocolates and the like!

I got two framed pictures of a horse that I have a special connection to (http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/elegant-horse-p ... 6_33150058, http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/elegant-horse-p ... 6_33246302), some new ornaments for the tree, a bunch of candy, a bunch of clothes and a whole lot of money.

A couple of sweaters
A bottle of Canadian maple syrup. (The bottle is cut glass so it almost looks like it belongs in the whiskey cabinet....I took a swig from it in front of my aunt and she confiscated it until my parents explained what's actually in the bottle) ;D
Assorted chocolates and candies
Breath mints (hmmm...maybe my sister is trying to tell me something...) :-X
Socks
and a nice pair of Sennheiser headphones

The busier my life get, the more I realize that Christmas is really more about spending time with friends and family and less about presents and gifts. ;)

I received a gift card, zippo lighter and surprisingly a very nice shotgun. I mentioned offhand to my dad a few months ago that I would like to try trap shooting and what do you know, he hands me a shotgun this Christmas. :)

This was surprising because we don't usually do big expensive gifts, the idea being that it's the thought that counts not how much you spend.

P.S. no anti gun debates please, trap shooting is a sport. ;)

I got some Jack Daniels Whiskey Praline Pecans, yum yum; a very nice Street Rod calendar, some cash, a cool Primos cap with the Browning logo, and the host of on sale airplanes I bought myself, plus the TrackIR. It will

take me a while to really learn the F-14, F-20, A-10, Vulcan and C-130, but I do pretty well with the rest. The least desirable of the bunch is the Twin Star and it is ok. I think the one that is the most fun is the SA-2 Samson.

The main thing, is I got to spend time with my Mom, Aunt, Son, Daughter-in-law, Daughter and grandsons, not to mention a lot of good food.

Doh! how could I forget that? it's a Mossberg 500A with wood stocks and 28 inch ported barrel. It also has interchangeable choke tubes. The neat thing is that there are a lot of accessories out there for this gun so if I ever wanted to change it, it would be easy to do. But I like it the way it is. ;)

NICE! I finally got what I wanted for awhile, a clay pigeon thrower I can launch with my foot, now I can go out and

Back when, I had a Mossberg 500 with a pistol grip and a 15" barrel - think it was legal.

I think the key characteristic of a good Christmas present is that it's constantly useful. I have chocolate, films and new camera equipment, but they either run out or become boring.

So my favourite Christmas present was something ever so small, yet hugely useful. A lovely new belt reel so I can hold my till card for when at work. No more dropping or losing my card, and it's useful for several days of the week. Not bad for
