From the M$ point of view anything that isn't their product is of the Dark Side...

If I would have had 100 Euro for everytime I got bored with FS or gaming in common, I'd be a rich man by now.... But as always, you get back to it. Just wait for a while. I haven't finished a flight in a long time. Started a flight yesterday, flew for 5 or 10 minutes and got thinking; What the h3ll I'm a doing here, sitting behind my desk, with a stupid piece of plastic in front of me, when I could be doing something useful. So I shut down all of FS, got my little daughter by the hand, kissed my wife goodbye and went for a milkshake. One day when she is all grown up (or at least at an age where she can entertain herself), I'll be roaring around in the virtual skies again.

Carlo ;)

PS Somehow I never get bored with SimViation. I wonder why...

It seems like a pretty common theme, and I fall into this category as well:

Flight sim lost it's fascination for me when I took my first flying lesson. That was about five years ago. I guess I felt that it wasn't real enough any more. Since then, my sim flying has been limited to just half an hour or hour here and there. Maybe a short cross country using actual paper charts, or doing silly things like flying through a canyon. Certain things still bring great satisfaction, like a "perfect" landing (which is harder to do in the sim than for real IMO) or navigating VFR and ending up right where I'm supposed to be. I guess what I'm saying is to put it into perspective, take a break, come back when you want to and do the things that you enjoy most about it. That is what it is for after all, enjoyment.  :)

I've recently gone over to the Dark Side, I've brought X-Plane 9. The graphics aren't as good as FSX but the game play is incredibly realistic and suddenly I'm focusing on sharpening my skills on a variety of planes and being an aerobatic God in as close to realistic settings as possible.
Remember I'm a nutter.... scary or what? ;D ;D ;D
Not necessarily so... you can wind up with "Sorry, you're overqulaified" to most every job application, if you get a response at all... and forced to vie for assistance no matter how physically able you are. :-[ :'(

Since the day I took my first flying lesson to 2 years ago when I joined this forum...I have not been bored enough to ever consider giving up or stop flying sim.

As a matter of fact, I try to rack up as many hours as I can in FS like im a real pilot...since I cant be one yet. Try looking into FSP, that got me even more hooked.  8-)

About 400+ logged hours...im so proud :D :D :D
