Forced holiday!!

Postby expat » Mon Apr 19, 2010 2:50 am

No flying in Germany until (supposedly) 8 pm tonight, but I am not holding my breath. Just been called by work to say am on holiday! When I said, no, I will come in, clean the hanger etc, etc, the answer was, no you are on holiday.............and don't forget to fill in the paperwork tomorrow. Now I was on day shift, so no extra shift money today, just basic and as I am salaried, that basic is paid whether I am at work or on holiday or on my death bed or on Mars. Seems a bit spiteful to make take holiday off me, I am still paid the same. Tomorrow, I have to swap with one of the guys, he HAS to take a holiday and I get to man the phone. A volcano has managed to to something that terrorists and the eco lobby could never do..............and the irony is, it will probably have a greater effect on the climate than the aircraft ever will. Need to post a smiley now, but not sure which one. Forced holiday, on holiday, no job, still being paid, so to be as safe as the governments have been grounding all air traffic using just one computer model of the ash here are all of them ;D
:) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8-) :-? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-/ :-* :'(

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

The Icelanders are really trying to get their own back after they allowed their Banks to fail, affecting our Savers, and forcing us to Bail them out, and then asking for our money back!.... :o...!

They lit the blue Touch-paper and let their Volcano off!.... >:(...!
