Caught in the blizzard

Postby ShaneG_old » Sat Feb 06, 2010 6:16 am

Stuck at home, 10 inches of snow, wind howling like a banshee. We haven't seen a snow plow since yesterday afternoon, and we live 10 miles from the nearest store.

If global warming is coming, it needs to hurry, I hate the snow.  :-[

At least we're not getting the 2 feet predicted for the East coast.  :o

Anyone else dealing with the white stuff today?

I haven't had to deal with any snow this year, but I have a friend that has been stuck at Reagan National Airport in D.C. for the past 20 hours. :'(

Looks like the big Mid-Atlantic storm just missed this area... I was actually a little disappointed to wake and see a mere dusting, and the roads already clear.

Goodly morning... :)

I have been doing my snow dance for several months now and we have very very little snow.  It has been a bit chilly like minus twenty-six C many days wtih an added wind chill.

This winter has been a real bummer for those of us who love the snow for flying off skis, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and I really miss the winter scenery which is so beautiful at times.

Oh well, Mother Nature does what she wants.  ;)    :)

We got 2 feet of it, and of course it blows around so upwards of 4 or 5 in some areas due to wind....lovely....

Warm-blooded Human Beings were never designed to function properly in freezing cold weather...

Hehe.....skipped out quite a bit on that little storm up here to your north :P..maybe 2-3 inches, but blowing so hard you really couldn't count on a measurement.

I know I'm tired of shoveling it off the sidewalks and driveway, just to have the plows come by and bury them again.  >:(  ;)

After the sun came out, it cleared the roads fairly well. Some of the snow drifts were rather impressive here, but we've managed to get through another.

Still not as bad as the 1993 & 2004 storms that we had.  ;)

55 and partly sunny here in the Pacific Northwest.  I hear Vancouver is trucking in snow for the Olympics.
