3D...

Postby Rich H » Sat Jan 09, 2010 12:33 pm

Expected to sell around 3.4 million 3d capable tvs this year, and just in the US. A staggering amount.

So does anyone use 3D tvs, or use gaming glasses?
For myself, it makes me feel kind of dizzy.

Well Discovery, IMax and Sony are said to be creating 3D TV channels so there is starting to become a need for it.

I dislike wearing 3D glasses which is why I won't be investing in anything like that. There are lot of recent advances and I think people are probably stuck behind.

I don't think 3D TV will be that widespread. It might look great now but in a few years it will die out like the rest of the other technology.

it may be the new wave of the future... but who REALLY wants to wear a pair of magenta/blue glasses just to watch a sitcom, or Bear Grylls {man vs wild}, or "Die Hard" in 3d?

the tv as a monitor for the computer coupled with Flight sim might be interesting, but then again I could just buy TrackIR if i wanted.

There was a console game about a cowboy back in the early 90's that was HOLOGRAPHIC.  I think it would be interesting if someone would design a Holographic TV Console (CRT tv with holo-projectors instead of a tube) would be EXCELLENT!!! who here would go for the HOLOTV? i know I would.  Hook up FSX to the HOLOTv, and now you not only hear the engines, but you get the REAL 3D immersion of being in the clouds, being in the cockpit, and flying!!!!

The new glasses are not the same as the old. They are actually pretty clear, especially the electronic ones that will be coming with 3D TVs. You can barely tell they're there.
