Localized FSX version in UK (British English?)

Postby MadWings » Thu Nov 19, 2009 3:59 am

Hello everyone,

after years of sticking to the good old stuff (meaning games), I finally got me FSX on eBay.

However, I immediately realized all the texts are German. (Which is kind of natural, since I am German and live in Germany.) Stupid me however didn't think of that before. I won't like having my mother tongue all over my beloved anglophile sim world, so I'll have to get and english version of FSX.

My question: is FSX sold as a localized version with British English in England? I got used to AE in all these years and would like to know where I have buy at ebay.com or ebay.co.uk

Oh, and since I was off so long... thanks everyone for keeping this wonderful community so alive!

Hi. I could be wrong but in my experience all English versions of FS are the same. US English.

That would be nice. Any UK person around to confirm that?

...much as I despair of the possibility of "Alabama English" in the Flight Sims, I think is preferable to listening to; "Liverpool English" for Air Traffic Control messages, in our expensive Clark Headsets!

Paul...slowly getting acclimatised to; "American English"...painful at times...but built into the Sim....like it or not!.... ::).... ;D....!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.

It shouldn't be that painful, Foz... you got into two world wars with your native English -- you were helped get out of them both with a lot of American English ;)

Thanks a lot for your replies, guess I can boy on ebay.co.uk then.

By the way... just to avoid any wrong impressions...

I LOVE British English, especially those nice accents, which I always enjoy when I watch UK stuff like Life on Mars or Extras. But since I have a photographic memory, and having all thos text messages in FSX, I wanted to avoid getting back into this confusion with...

realize vs. realise
center vs. centre

and all that stuff :)
