1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Unless they changed the law you can drive on private land without a licence or insurance. The police do not usually get involved unless someone is hurt. Something very odd here.
That's true over here, as well, although the charge can be made when investigation for another offense intended. Under normal operandi, however, the property owner's complaint might warrant charges related to tresspassing.

Once a bridleway is maintained at public expense, then it changes from being classed as private land to public and then you are subject to the rule of the road. In this case access is allowed via foot or horse but not horse power. You are not permitted to drive a motor vehicle on a bridleway and that is that.

You must have more information on this incident than me. I've read the article from your link through very carefully several times & nowhere does it state that this happened on a public bridleway or even a footpath.

Well it is a Daily Mail report ::). If you read the comments, this is all they are talking about, that being private land. Probably an editorial slip to get the masses foaming at the mouth. All the other news websites are saying it is a bridleway. And if it is a bridalway or a public foot path you are forbidden from driving on it/down it. This is the only way I can see a prosecution taking place. Otherwise, private land is private land regardless of how stupid (within reason) you are.
