In my day if you wanted something you paid for it. Simple as that. Whether it was worth it or not didn't enter the equation. If you didn't have enough money then you saved up until you could afford it. Back in the "Swingin' Sixties" when a web was something spun by spiders a vinyl album cost something like 32 shillings & sixpence. That's about

They sound better than Coldplay too.

Technically it's a civil judgment and not a "fine", which may make a difference when she files for bankruptcy.

In America - probably.

In Canada - I've heard that file sharing is legal there.  The government has caved in to the RIAA and taxes every blank CD assuming that everyone is a criminal.

We could start a band and release an album with farts. We'll make millions with our 'talent'.....

Not sure where she downloaded her songs but a long time ago I had limewire, downloaded liike 10 songs. Then my computer crashed at both my mom and dads house. To this day I refuse to download any of that crap ever again because in my mind it screws up your computer.

Now I buy all my songs on iTunes even though I only have 50. ;D

Is limewire illegal? Because my friend uses it and I just wanted to make sure for him.

There's a lot of different ways of looking at this, but realistically, the punishment does not fit the crime.

Limewire, the software = Legal.
The things you can get from it = GENERALLY illegal. Still some legal software/downloads you can get from Limewire, it depends on the license the software has and who uploads it. A lot of the stuff will be illegal though.

It is like asking if Google is illegal. Sure there are legal things you can get by using it, but then again there are illegal things you can gain by using it... Yet Google remains legal to use.
