UFOs over my home town

Postby Hagar » Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:24 am

Don't know how I missed all the excitement. First I've heard of this. ::) UFOs over Worthing

Shame I didn't see anything or I could have got a scoop. Theories range from the planet Jupiter & shooting stars, someone flashing a laser pen in the sky & seagulls. I see the Worthing Fiesta was on that weekend. Reaction and comment

Can't remember what I was doing that evening or what the weather was like. I clearly remember the following day as that was when I had my first flight in a Piper Cub. The weather was glorious & no sign of those little green men. Perhaps we frightened them off. ;)

That's a stupid Iron rock in a low angle reentry in the atmosphere, it delay and most of them survive and hit the ground ,the position of the footage was in from of this re entry ,(Front View at 100 or 200 KM away almost  no lateral movement )

I have spend a half of my life watching the sky at night , in very clears skies I have seen these object a lot..

I've also spent a good part of my life looking up in the sky. I'm fairly certain the large glowing object in the video was the planet Jupiter. The movement is caused by the camera which was actually a mobile phone. Constantly zooming in & out adds to the effect. The "mysterious rock" Mrs Allwright found in her conservatory could well be a small meteorite.

I'm reserving all deliberations until I hear the official word from Stanton Friedman. ;D ;D ;D

I could tell you all some stories. I saw something like that before when I lived in Florida. Without getting into too much detail, I woke up just in time to see a "thing" do a quick zip around the sky that looked a little like the still shot for the story on that page (low level actually, but above the treetops) before blinking out of sight.

Things started getting a little weird after that. :-X

I've seen stuff like that too, but they were fighter jets, tracer fire, and rockets.... ;D

I'm sorry, but citing a planet as a culprit is a difficult sell to me and Jupiter has been a prominent fixture in the sky. I realize not everyone is out and about walking, perhaps, a mile or two of a five-mile trip per night (and cycling the rest). That a single drunk or two may make such an observational mistake, maybe... that a prankster or so may claim it (and fake it), sure...
I've seen a bright, streaking object fly over or within view of me a couple times and my assumption is that each was a meteor. Of course, they seemed to flash through on a straight course (and they were bluish, not flying oranges) but, since I heard no engines nor sonic booms and have no meteorite in hand, they, too, were UFOs.

I clearly remember the following day as that was when I had my first flight in a Piper Cub. The weather was glorious & no sign of those little green men. Perhaps we frightened them off.
They were probably blending in with those hung-over from the festivities, spewing tiny bits of UFOs from within. :P

The way the universe works is to readily reveal its strangest secrets to least qualified;
it reveals to the rest, at an observation point from the equator, once in a sunlit night.
;)

Fighter jets, tracers, and rockets however, tend not to leave little lumpy things inside your earlobes that you notice the next day in the shower.

We haven't had much in the way of clear skies recently so this was possibly the first clear sighting of Jupiter anyone had had this year. Add to that the low cloud base reported in the paper & the fact that Jupiter was in opposition with a low trajectory I would say that is more than a likely explanation. I have no idea what the reported smaller objects might have been. I didn't see any on that video myself after watching it several times. Possibly a meteor shower but it could have been anything. People with rich imaginations tend to see what they want to see.

I wish. I don't mean get it out with a "Q-tip" inside, but rather, use a razor blade to cut it out from below the skin inside.

Whatever it was in the video, it sure seemed to get around. Without having seen it first hand I'd have a hard time saying, but it looked like it may have been a helo maybe.

I think it's stationary. It's the camera that's moving. This might or might not have been intentional. Note that it's being constantly zoomed in & out which seems a tad suspicious & adds to the illusion. Even if it's genuine it's very difficult to focus a hand-held camera on a distant object & hold it steady with full zoom.

The still photo posted with that report is typical of a hand-held shot of a celestial object. If the moon was out I would take one myself & show you.
