Here's a good question:

Why does everybody call it a would "cup" if the trophy looks more like a "ball" being held by human figures? ;D

Why do American's call it "The World Series", when only America plays in it.  8)

Urmm Kat, your USA against England prediction, not a good one ;) The US first team were beaten by the England 2nd and even 3rd string team recently. If they ever meet in the world cup, they will be facing the real deal.
Sorry friendly banter ;D
Still dont like the game, but go England.

two of the USA's players, play for Reading FC...

but... il be doing my best to ignore the world cup....

I enjoy soccer, just like any sport played at its highest levels by the best athletes.. So I'll be watching, when I'm able. But I'll have to admit, it takes an effort to get excited about watching soccer.

Trinidad holding Sweden to a draw, pretty much secures our place in the next round, as long as we hold sweden to a draw or win, then we're clean through, i would like to see England V Germany, but i'd prefer to play the second in their group, lol

I had the pleasure of working on the night of the England win.  50 + very drunk, very sunburned and very stupid "footy" fans who decided to finish the day with a punch up were in the department.

Expletives deleted.

Let me just say that it was a very looooooooong shift.

Another good day so far!

Another " Dutch" Succes when Guus Hiddink's Australia beat Japan 3-1 in a late match victory... untill the 80th minute or so Japan led 1-0.

Also today the USA got the expected clobbering when the almighty czechs beat them 3-0. Mind you the Czech republic has a great team and should be feared by all opponents.

So that leaves Italy and debutant Ghana tonight! Should be interesting!
