I'm very sorry to hear that. Ronnie Barker was one of the most talented people in his profession. Actor, comedian & writer. He could be hilariously funny without ever being crude or offensive, a lesson that could be learned by so many modern comedians & scriptwriters. He gave me much pleasure & laughter over a long period of time. In fact it's difficult to remember a time without him. He was one of the few people in show business that I can honestly say that I will miss. :(

I just read this on the Guardian website, can't believe it. A truely gifted comic and a tragic loss to British entertainment.
I still like Porridge, Open All Hours and even find The Two Ronnies funny when I'm at home for Xmas......

He was a big part of my childhood, Porridge, Open All Hours - all comedy classics. And who can forget the "Four candles/Fork 'andles" sketch from the Two Ronnies. A true comic genius, he will be sadly missed by most of my generation (30 - 40yr old).
And i must thank him for my parents letting me stay up to watch TV when i was a small child, good honest clean humour which we could all watch as a family.

It's goodnight from him.  :'(   :'(

And hard on the heels of the death of Agent 86, Maxwell Smart - two comedians in one week.    Somewhere on the Internet there will be a conspiracy theory about this.

As Hagar said, Ronnie gave us years of innocent fun.   Even when he was chasing after Nurse Gladys Emmanuel it was more "nudge, nudge, wink, wink."

I must be getting on, lately every time I check out the news, another icon of my youth has passed on.

I'm only 15 but I watched the Two Ronnies Sketchbook a couple of months ago - definitely one of the better things on TV!

Very sad news indeed :(
