i should have guessed that! . my mothers side of the family is from up north and when my grandma speaks in her dialect, she says "snakken" instead of "sprechen" (to talk/speak).  interesting

i can't speak a word of spanish (well, maybe 1 or 2) which sucks since my brother in law is spanish and doesn't speak any german or english . it makes for some very interesting situations when my sister leaves the house, putting little dictionaries into both our hands so we can "talk" . either one of us runs off pretending to be busy with something or we switch on the tv and don't say a word til my sister comes back

I speak just enough German to make myself sound like a jackass, here: "Wo ist mein auto?" Forgive the spelling, Im sure some of it is wrong, or the whole sentance might be wrong, but I think it means "where is my car?"
