Oh the joys of being given 20,000 rounds ....... 6 SLRs and two Gimpys... There ya go boys 1000mtrs of range and all day to get rid of the ammo. The poor recruits manning the butts thought we were shooting at them...... nope just the marking flags  ;D

I heard those poor chaps in the Navy have to aim & shout BANG......! nowadays.

In my day it was the good old Short Lee-Enfield (SMLE for short) or if you were lucky a BREN gun. Proper guns not all these fancy gizmos they have now. If you fired a proper rifle sitting down you would end up on your back.

Prone - we're not aloud to fire anyother way.   The only thing I've fired standing is 12 Bore - Certainly 'killed' lol a box at 25 yards...
It was 25 meters like I said - I havent has the oppurtunity to use more! And yes, L98 A1 cadet GP rifle. Im in 621 (Carmarthen) squadron.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

The last time I fired a rifle was in 1955 in the Army (REME), a Lee Enfield .303.
Not impressed...
Never, ever, wanted to do it again since.

well im in the 9th Pt Caversham Army Cadets (we are REME i think, REME cap badge anyway ) i havnt attully shot one of those, but hav done skill at arms with it and rifle drill, and stripping it down. btw i hav shot the No.8 .22 rifle in our 15m range

hmmm..... i remember when i went to the royal air tatoo with cadets, and the were all those bloody idoit air cadets in ther perfetly ironed blue shirts with the top button done up, lookin like poofs

Watch out chaps. The place is full of bloomin' pongos.

1440 (Shoreham) Squadron ATC (Sussex Wing). We even had our own Spitfire.

Nine out of ten rounds within a 2 pence at 50 metres. Thats good enough to represent your county.

Ahh just wait till you move up, and start firing larger caliber firearms. My personal favorite is the MP5 (9mm).
