Stylish pizza delivery

Postby ozzy72 » Tue Feb 08, 2005 1:49 pm

A lieutenant has been disciplined after using an Army helicopter to deliver a pizza to his girlfriend.
The incident on 25 January saw the unnamed officer divert from a routine training flight over Stanford, Norfolk, to take the fast food.
The Ministry of Defence refused to name the officer, from 659 Squadron, or divulge how he was punished.
A spokesman said: "The chain of command doesn't condone these sorts of actions. The individuals have been disciplined."
He added: "During a routine low-level training sortie, somebody decided it would be an opportunity to use it for a delivery."
The extra cost caused by the diversion is not known.
The pizza was understood to have been delivered to a female officer cadet at an Army range at Thetford, Norfolk.
The Ministry of Defence spokesman did not confirm what toppings were on the pizza.

Better than your local pizza delivery boy, but not all that smart ::) ;D

Ha Ha! Takes me back to Officer training that does - all kinds of schemes to get this and that delivered to various far out places (although mostly to our rooms as even the mess couldn't feed us enough)...

I wonder how her training is going, or if she still is an Officer Cadet...

Seems like a perfectly reasonable excuse for a diversion to me. It's all good practice & what else would they be doing? Probably a similar but completely pointless exercise somewhere else. Someone needs a sense of humour transplant. IMHO ::)

I should imagine that this sort of thing has been going on as long as men in the army have had girlfriends.  The only differance is that these days we have the curse of journalism.  Good on him, I hope he got his leg over as his just reward.

Hehe. Just like that group of pilots who flew to Prague for a weekend piss up a couple of months ago to celebrate their commanders retirement. All courtesy of the tax payer. ;D ;D ;D
