Crumbso. You seem to have a thing about the Javelin. I realise it was chosen instead of your Sea Vixen but AFAIK it was not very successful & only served with a few squadrons for a short time.

If possible, get yourself over to the Tangmere museum some time. They have a Sea Vixen on static display outside. Don't ask why as Tangmere was a RAF station. Maybe it came from RNAS Ford a few miles away. ::)
Here's a shot I took just for you. Sorry about the quality. The sun was just in the wrong place.

oh know worries about seeing a Vixen I've been inside G-CVIX.

Sorry about forgetting about the Hunter I also think they are georgous but it just slipped my mind at the time looking back I can't believe I left it out.

I suppose tha javelin actually looks quite nice but wasn't the greatest aircraft ever. I wouldn't refuse one if I was offered it though.

Oh yeah although the hunter is beautiful and flies nicely I don't recommend it to claustrophobics cause the cocpit is tiny and I mean that. I actually think the T.7 variant is the nicest hunter of them all.

Consider yourself officially reprimanded. :P

I used to see Javelins flying over when I was but a lad in short trousers. They made a distinctive warbling sound, not heard anything like it before or since. It was never a favourite of mine although the double delta design was unusual. I can't think of another aircraft with this configuration offhand. My mate who worked on them told me they were constantly having problems with the engines at altitude. The performance never came up to expectations. Not a successful aircraft at all.

Having been lucky enough to fly in one the T.7 is my favourite too. ;)

In my memory, the only one I can think of which comes close to a delta with a stab is Heinneman's hot rod....? in plan view I think it may qualify as a delta ?...... ???

Jet?  Beauty?  These words can exist in the same sentence!? :o Although that Hawk looks a little stubby, and stubby things are always best, look at Napoleon!

Lightning.

The Hunter looks like an aneorexic? Buccaneer to me.

I used to see lightnings fly out of Andrews AFB once in a while when I was a kid. But these were clean, not all
the drag makers as in your picture.

Sweet jet.

BTW I did'nt see the Vulcan on the list! Another great British marvel.

Actually, the Jaguar is currently only in production - in India.

but the hands down, no if ands or buts, about it, most beautiful British Jet Fighter HAS to be the Hunter F.2 - before the "Sabrinas" and the dog tooth wing.

Yeah, Yeah I know I forgot that for a moment. The DH.110 was going to be RAF though. I can't exclude my favourite aircraft.

Sorry I can't believ eI forgot the Hunter, that was very stupid of me. I'm quite surprised the Jaguars winning it looks so French to me and I'm not a huge fan of french aircraft.

Well lets just imagine the Vixen was in the airforce would have been MUCH better than the damn Javelin.
