Aerial Decisions...

Postby Fozzer » Sat Aug 25, 2012 10:18 am

Its 4:00 PM in the late August afternoon, and I'm sitting here in my living room, looking at a massive array of huge, bright white, (and black), Towering Cumulus Clouds, in a bright blue sky outside, with a stiff NW breeze blowing.

Stay on the ground ! There's a reason those clouds are towering, and the nearby atmosphere is along for the ride

I get to make these decisions every day... which is a fun part of my job.  99% of the time, we go.  Just another day dodging prairie thunderstorms!   Not trying to sound invincible... if it's really bad out there, then we won't go.  8-)

Hi Wade... :)

Can count the number of flights on one hand we aborted in the weather office or base camp.

Most were at the top end of Hudson Bay and in the winter.

Being a real aviator and Captain yourself you understand the old sayings very very well....

It is better to be down here...
Wishing you were up there...
than
Up there...
Wishing you were down here...

Say Wade, have not seen any pictures of your trips lately or my beloved DeHavilland DHC-3 Radial Engine Otter I know you have out there... ;D    ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
