The best scenery I've found out there is Sunskyjet's Philadelphia International Airport. It is better than most payware addons. It is pretty FPS friendly and works well with WOAI and other ai addons. The best part: ITS FREE! Even if you don't fly to big airports, this'll make you want to. Download it now; you wont regret it. http://www.sunskyjet.com/index.html
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is. Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
Project Tupolev TU-154. It's the PMDG of the Freeware world, 3D gauges, realistic start-up procedure, real RUSSIAN AUTOPILOT and everything is in RUSSIAN. It has the switch and button sounds. It's a great plane. GET IT. http://www.protu-154.net/index_e.html
For those who like really detailed and very true-to life scenery , I'd suggest a look at the "VVTorino.it" site for Aeritalia (LIMA) and Caselle (LIMF) airports. LIMA was the former city airfield up until about 1956 and is currently the home of the Aeroclub Torino. Caselle is the major city airport. Among other things, practically all the smaller local airports are also faithfully reported. Eye candy in abundance!
Have you been able to get FaceTrackerNoIR to work? I am in FSX and have tried both the FSX and 2004 setups and never got beyond the initializing stage. If you have successfully gotten it to work, please share your setup, including the simconnect port you used on your firewall.
My favorite plane is Nigel Booth's BAC 167 Royal New Zealand Air Force Strikemaster for FSX. This is basically a low level ground attack trainer developed from the RAF's Hunting Percival JP5. The Singapore Armed Forces took delivery of some in 1970/71 and RNZAF officers disguised as civilians were employed as CFI's, later wearing SAF uniforms. Memories eh Titus?
