So this will basicly update you to the "Gold" edition right? Also thanks for the reply.

Yes :)

Are you sure about that? Does Acceleration include the extra aircraft featured in FSX Deluxe? What about the SDKs?

PS. The F/A-18 is part of Acceleration & not included with FSX Deluxe.

I know that the FA-18 is Acceleration.....isn't that what I said? :)

I also bought the standard edition and was disappointed that the Acceleration expansion was needed to get the FA-18 >:(

Not the way I read it.

And yes, Acceleration includes ALL aircraft and the SDKs:

OK, I missed that. :-[

I still think FSX Gold would be would be a better option & probably cheaper.

Probably cheaper, but requires a complete reinstall :P :)

Not really. It still implies that the F/A-18 is included with FSX Deluxe which it isn't. :P

Probably cheaper, but requires a complete reinstall :P :)

OK, I accept that - providing Acceleration is still available.

I'll read it as many times as you like Chuck. It still reads the same.

I also bought the standard edition and was disappointed that the Acceleration expansion was needed to get the FA-18

By mentioning the Standard  Edition you implied that the F/A-18 is included with Deluxe.

Never mind, this is a silly argument & not helping anyone. ;)

And yes, Acceleration includes ALL aircraft and the SDKs

From your own link Chuck:

One of the bugs, that occurs only in the Standard Edition, is the Maule Air Orion aircraft used in the mission has missing gauges and other problems, as it is a Deluxe Version-only aircraft.

In addition, Acceleration does not include the whole SDK, just an update to it:

The Accel adds nothing on the SDK... I had FSX Standart and Acceleration and the Accel SDK didn't work on itself. ACES says that the Accel SDK is the whole thing, but it isn't more than an update....

After all this I went and dug out my FSX box and it is actually the Deluxe version :-/
I was under the impression that I started with FSX Standard and added Acceleration. But in actaulity I had Deluxe to begin with and then added Acceleration.

So, in fact, I do not know what I'm talking about. Please disregard my ramblings :D

Then it seems safer (abit a few dollars more and a reinstall) just to go ahead and buy FSX Gold then. Owell could be worse, thanks fellas.

Everyone makes mistakes. Thanks to Andy for clearing this up. I knew something didn't seem right. Glad I poked my nose in now. 8-)

Yes, that's what I would do. If you hunt around I'm sure you can pick up FSX Gold for a reasonable price.

When I installed FSX (deluxe), I wasn't able to find the versions as stated in my previous topic.
