AI-Traffic F/A 18 "Staffel 17" Swiss AF

Postby idahosurge » Sat Feb 14, 2009 12:05 pm

Has anyone downloaded AI-Traffic F/A 18 "Staffel 17" Swiss AF from the FSX Scenery section and gotten it to work?

I downloaded this and the LSMP, Payerne Air Base, Switzerland and no AI traffic.  I have tried both 12:30 PM local time and GMT and no traffic.

I noticed that the author did not include an aircraft.cfg file in his F/A18 AI folder.  Can that be why it does not show up?  I emailed the author, but have not received a response, so I thought that I would post this and see if anyone has gotten the AI traffic to work.

I loaded the traffic blg files into scenery/world/scenery and made a FA-18 AI folder as directed and put that into the simobjects/airplanes folder.

I have downloaded other AI traffic for other military bases and that traffic shows up and all the other AI traffic that I have downloaded has an aircraft.cfg file in the AI airplane folder.

Any help will be appreciated.

Without the aircraft.cfg file they will not fly....the sim can't find the aircraft.

I downloaded it but as I don't have the Accel. F-18, can't install it.

Hopefully the author will provide you with the aircraft.cfg file. The other option is to create your own by modifying the F-18's .cfg file. If you do so you'll have decompile each traffic*.bgl file to obtain the aircraft 'title' for the 'title=' lines.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
