Autogen Trees Location

Postby wsciutti » Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:46 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone know the file location of the autogen trees? My system( i7 920, 260 card, 180.48 drivers, Nhancer set up per Nick's instructions) on 8xS, seems to have a lot of one type of tree shimmer.

I was thinking of eliminating that tree type. I do use TreeX.

Thanks.

there is no way to eliminate one class of tree.. you probably notice it more with pines than anything else

Treex may help.. I dont use it in EU while developing.. just make sure its TreeX for SP1

It will backup and restore default as well

Thank you Nick. I do use TreeX for SP1 and it did help and, yes, the pines shimmer.

If I use 8sXQ, I get great eye candy(little shimmer) but turn stutters which the bufferpool entry does not seem to help. I can even use 16XS straight and level but, boy, the turns are jerky.

Any suggestions appreciated.

those increased AA settings are hitting the system too hard and is why I use and suggest 8xS which is a tradeoff for perf and visual clarity

Nick,

FSX runs fine... the
problem is you or
your system

As usual, it is ME!! I just spent a bit of time testing and am back to 8xS.
I got rid of ALL REX stuff, am using FEX clouds only and FSWC to tune the water; flew slightly N of Whitbey NAS. Different visuals entirely with TreeX, UTX, GEXn, and FSG.
I think its time for Jack to stop 'tweaking' and enjoy this OC 920.

Thanks again.

J
