Do you mean Helios as in the airline?

There are some videos on youtube, you could also try some tutorials in FSX.

Practice, Patience, and one heck of a steady hand! I can land on the pad maybe 1 out of 10 tries myself.  :-[

Try to land like a plane.
First the easy way, landing with a lot of forward speed. Then, try reducing your speed upon landing, more and more. It will require some control to keep the helo orientation, and the slower you'll get, the harder it will be to control. Make your landings slower and slower, and you will get the feeling.

PS: hovering, I mean, flying over a fixed point with no speed at all, is THE MOST DIFFICULT thing with a helo. Don't try it now, take your time, practise your landings, practise them slower and slower, and when you will have the feeling, you will be able to start your hovering practise. ;)

You mean Hover?

Give it more then 1 day to learn to fly a Helicopter. Hovering is one of the hardest things to do.

Just keep practicing.

It's very hard. You need to maintain a vertical speed of zero by making very small ajustments to the trottle. You also need to keep your rotors level to minimize side to side motion (preferably zero). You also need to keep your airspeed at zero. You can do this by making very very very small movements with your joystick. Don;t overcontrol or overeact to slight movements of the chopper. You'll get it down eventually.

B-Valvs, when you say slight adjustments to the throttle, do you MEAN throttle or the collective?  I'm learning helicopters a bit too, but when I change the throttle the helicopter won't stay aloft.

He meant "collective".
You have to adjust the collective (which is usually assigned to the throttle axis of your joystick) when your speed change.

The rotor acts as a wing. When your copter is going fast, the rotor creates a lot of lift, so you don't need much collective to maintain a level flight (= stable altitude).

However, when the speed of your copter decreases, the lift decreases as well, so you have to compensate by increasing the collective, so that the rotor creates more lift again.

So that means that if you slow down and do not increase the collective, the copter wil start loosing altitude. In the same way, if you were going slow and suddenty you accelerate, and you do not decrease the collective, you will notice that the altitude will start to increase.

To maintain the helicopter stopped in mid air, (that means "hovering"), you have first to learn to fly slowly, then slower and slower until you get able to control it when it's stopped. The slower the speed of a copter, the harder it gets to control it. You have to TAKE YOUR TIME ! Just practise ;)
