I had a similar problem with the default king air I solved the issue by adding a taxi gauge to the panel. About the only other way I found that sometimes works is to use the F3 and F4 keys to increase and decrease the throttle. 8-)

FSX doesnt do turbo props too well and most of them do have  lot of power. The cheyenne i have i leave the throttle down and use the power levers to taxi it. IF you have the power lever at max then it will surge forward  so set them at minimum. It also pays to load the default flight first to make sure FSX has everything is set properly.

Make sure your condition levers are at low idle.  Adjust them by the mixture keys

Excellent advice.  If you have the Lionheart Epic, it will put you through the airport fence in a flash if you don't have the Condition and Prop levers back.

Thank heaven, in FSX you don't have to fill out insurance forms for the damage that you do!

One more thing...

Does it affect flying performance it I start messing around with the fuel and prop levers?

Well it depends on your realism sliders.

If they are maxed like mine then adjusting the prop controll in flight is important else the aircraft will over-stress and crash.

If your are at low then no, you don't have to use those, pitty is, it takes away the fun to fly sim for real IMO.

In reality the prop controll should be adjusted, so the fuel too. This ensure appropriate RPM and manifold presures in flight.

Having those in the red is like driving a car in 1st gear all the time. The engine will blow and then starts the twouble.

Each aircraft has appropriate requirements at climb, level flight and approaches when it comes to RPM and manifold preasures.

:)

PS: It is similar to adjusting automixture controll, you may turn taht off in the sim, but if it is on, you have to mix appropriatly.
