Airspeed not saving properly.

Postby centure6 » Tue Oct 28, 2008 8:08 pm

When in overspeed, I saved my game. Upon loading, my airspeed reset to some low value which messes my whole flight up. Any ideas on how to get it to save properly, or even better to directly edit airspeed to any given value without having to reset the flight?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I can not imagine why you want to fly in over speed as it is hard on the engines. Usually after saving a flight in mid flight and reloading it takes a few moments for every thing to go back to where it was when you saved it. The air speed might take a little longer but the over speed condition might have something to do with it. As for editing the air speed to my knowledge there is no way to do that. 8-)

Not sure how to save it in overspeed, but when the flight loads you could pause and go to the map and set the airspeed to the desired speed and continue that way, a little cumbersome, but it would work. ;)

Thanks, I've tried that and it does seem to work. The only catch is you have to unpause and then re-pause before you can edit the speed. That works well enough I suppose.

I suppose that brings me to my next question. The speed on the map menu is displayed as knots, not mph, right?

I wish I could reveal why I'm saving in over-speed mode, but that information is top-secret confidential! It will all come out in due time.

If the CIA has asked you to  save in overspeed then I guess you must.  Or if you are a secret tester for an airliner manufacturer, then so be it.

But surely if you re-load and find the speed below overspeed, then just work your throttle and push it back up in to the stuff the engine and airframe mode.  You can do this in a few seconds after re-start.

Oh and pilots always fly in knots - one nautical mile a minute.

Some very old aircraft had mph indicators but no modern aircraft.

And remember your airspeed is shown, I hope, in indicated airspeed, so if you are at a reasonable altitude you will be pushing your ariframe at a considerably faster true airspeed.

We look forward to the screenshots of the airframe break-up.
