Total or Partial Black Airplane

What makes the exterior view of an airplace totally black, partially black sometimes or in some instance sort of transparent? Something to do with the setting. This phenomenon does not happen all the time but when it does affects all aircraft. Only the airplane turns balck, not the scenery.

The texture formats used on those airplanes were made for earlier versions of MSFS, and are not compatible with FSX.  Anytime you use a plane from FS9 or earlier in FSX it's a crap shoot as to wether or not, or how well, it will work in FSX.
