Set viewpoint

Postby TRflyman01 » Thu Sep 18, 2008 1:39 am

While flying I like to set my viewpoint a little higher, raise seat twice, by using shift enter. I also pan around with the hat switch on my joystick and I have a button on the joystick set to recenter the view after panning but it always goes back to the original seat height. Is there a way that I can set the recenter to keep the seat height that I prefer or do I just have to keep hitting shift enter a couple of times after I recenter the view?

It should be possible to set the default VC view to what you like in the aircraft.cfg so that by hitting the center button (or Ctrl. Space) the view will reset to what you set as default... I'll have a look 'cause I don't know exactly, but I'm sure some other guys like socialgarbage can help you with editing the needed lines!

For the VC eyepoint, look in the aircraft.cfg for this section:

[Views]
eyepoint = 48.2, -1.55, 1.9

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
