Engine spool up/down time

Postby brettt777 » Thu Sep 11, 2008 7:26 am

Is there some setting in the .cfg file or air file that determines how long a jet engine takes to spool up and down? I know some of the older engines are suppose to take longer but I have a few that take forever. This seemes to affect the afterburners. They take forever to kick in and then you can't hardly get them to go off because the engine takes so long to spool down below 80 or 90%. Some aircraft are fine, like the FA-18 that comes with the Accel pack, and there's an F-16 and F-15 that I got from this site that works fine. Their engines seem to spool up and down alot quicker and so the afterburners work like they should. If the spool up/down time isn't the problem, anyone have an idea what could be causing the afterburner problem? I know it isn't in the throttle; like I said I have other a/c that work good.

Where did you get the aircraft from?

There are any number of designers that upload aircraft as freeware. While their efforts are very much appreciated by all of us,sometimes what they offer doesn't work as they intended.

Nearly all have an email address somewhere in the file download that gives you the opportunity to contact the designer and inform them of a problem you have found.

Make sure of course that you do have a problem before you contact them. If you do have a problem they will certainly do everything to rectify it and release a new file with a fix.

If it is payware same applies, there will be a contact address.

Perhaps you could let us know which aircraft you are having problems with.

Cheers
