I know this topic can I play fsx has been convered to death and I dont mean to start another can I use it thread. What setttings would I be able to handle and compare fsx with fs9 with GEP, FEV, active sky 6, All the woai installed traffic at 100% and all settings maxed I get great framerates. I agree with NIckN's statement its not fsx its your system or you and I'm not nieve enough to think I can run it great with my system but what advantes will there be in fsx. More and more addons are fsx only and more to come, But installing setting up is a big pain to me anyway just wanting to get some info on poeple with like systems.

My system will flat smoke FS9, I keep it locked at 60 with ALL sliders maxed and it never moves. I too have most of what you have installed.
I waited till a few months ago to get FSX, b/c of all the stuff I read about it being hard on systems. After a bit of addon magic(all freeware)
I have it (in my opinion) looking better than FS9 ever did for me. I keep all my settings except the weather, set at max and I see 15-20fps and have it locked at 20.
Now, having said all that, I have not touched FS9 since I got FSX, it has just been that rewarding for me, and from what I can see, my system doesn't quite stack up next to yours, so I would say that you would absolutely LOVE FSX!! Whatever problems or concerns you think you may have may be nothing at all! ;)
You'll never know unless you try! ;)

The entire WOW pack (the best textures I've seen yet freeware), the newest replacement grass, everything in the terrain mesh(for fsx) section, the performance textures pack, water config.,

everything found here at SimV!
install all of that, load up the game at edwards afb, take the ultralight there, and then try to tell me FSX wasn't worth all the effort! ;)
You're gonna love it (as long as you don't expect super Fps) 8-)

It is several packs. Takes a while to download at 'free' speed but only a couple of hours for everything on my list if you're a member! ;)
Getting FSX made me become a premier member and I'm tellin you now it was worth EVERY penny! ;)
If I had to get everything for FSX like I did for FS9(the VERY slow way)
I don't think I would have!

Good afternon. I am new to FSX, have liked it a lot so far. This is the only topic where I saw anything related with terrain mesh, thus the question. I downloaded the Central, Caribbean and South America 76m terrain mesh from simviation. How do I get that into the game please. I have installed only addon aircraft so far and improved a couple of other things, but I have not been able to figure out how to put the terrain mesh I downloaded. Could any body help me please?
Thank you

that's it for the generic world, If you like Louisville KY, the photo real for that is pretty awsome, but it's daytime only, and then just up to you from there on which airports for your favorite flying locals. The nice thing about this list is that you will find it all here! No need to bounce from site to site! ;)
