Long Loading Times

I've recently purchased Megascenery Socal & Horizon Simulation VFR for the UK.

Even when flying on the other side of the world, my loading times have went up 2-3 times.

Does anyone know why this should be and anyway to speed up my loading times again.

I have the scenery on another drive & its defragged ny name.

Is FSX loading this scenery even of its not needed?

You could try disabling it in the scenery library and see if that makes a difference in the loading times

I tried disabling it in the library, but with no luck.

If either of those addons replaces default textures that could explain it.

Something that has an impact on the loading time is the mesh resolution setting in the game.
If you set the mesh resolution to 1m, the loading time will be longer than if you set it to 38m.
Maybe the installation of MegaScenery modified this setting to make it more precise, thus altering the loading times of the whole world ?

I had the same problem when I installed the SRTM terrain and adjusted the slider, disabling the mesh brought loading times down, but then I was left with the bland default terrain.

in short : BETTER VISUALS ARE WORTH THE WAIT(what a few extra seconds?)

I also have FSGenesis terrain mesh which is set at 10m, my ground resolution is set at 1m.

My startup times were ok with just FSGEnesis, but once i installed GenX & Megascenery, long loading times.
