A Very Bright Problem

Postby Ravang » Mon Aug 04, 2008 4:59 pm

I recently downloaded Sim-Markets ex-payware Beechcraft Staggerwing and I was very happy to find a Staggerwing that worked 100% with FSX, well almost. The only thing is the aircraft appears very bright.

But from the tower view it looks normal.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem, I wouldn't ask if this was just any old aircraft but the Staggerwing is a rare, beautiful bird. Any help is much appreciated. 8-)

I thought it was the alpha channel myself but when I changed from black to white nothing changed on the paint. :-/ The interior can cause a problem with the sun behind it! 8-)

Yes, it is for FS9 but I put it in FSX. I hope there is a way to fix it there are very few Staggerwings modeled for FS.

I would just run it in FS9, but my video card sees the autogen and goes no, no, no. So I get black lines and then the blue screen of death. :P

I need to sit down and watch one of the million weird things of FSX  ;D

Would you be kind and link it to study and see why is doing this ?

Looks like the designer put something in the lightmap slot ..this is strange and really I would like to download it and see it for my self

Thanks

Is it some sort of reflective effect that is put into the model itself?

Here's the link, I am using it with Acceleration but I'm not sure if that could cause any problems like this...yeah right. :P A service pack not causing any problems?...from Microsoft, phiff  ::).  But if you could "fix" the paint I would be very, very grateful. [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

A service pack is designed to be a pack of things you have to service. ;)

I don't know my repainting experience not counting this is...well...its zero ;D.

Try this one...
ftp://63.217.28.218/47vintage/Simtech_Staggerwing.zip

Or just search SimV for Simtech Staggerwing. ;)

Absolutely brilliant Alrot.  Ravang if you do this amendment, it would be great if the model could be uploaded to SimV.

As its now freeware, I am sure there would be no IP problem.

I would really like to have this plane, the Stag is one of the superb classic aircraft.

Macca the problem is No matter is if a freeware , This plane has his copyright ,and the designer has to be respected , But This plane looks better than some of the default FSX original models ,has some wonderful FX in the alpha paintings ,Im really impress ,If you could see what I see  :o :o :o and I have a poor video card ,Is not a frame eater either ,Simple is Perfect plane!!No words to describe ,you would have to see it for your self!! :o
