Postby tcco94 » Fri Jul 25, 2008 8:46 pm

Okay I know how to fly, not a noob just for a future refrence but I wanna know how to switch or if I can when I use the altitude hold switch the vert. speed is set to 1800 auto but I want it to be like around 800-1100 becuase sometimes if I fast foward and im not paying attention when im high like 30,000 feet and I need to go to 35,000 it somestimes stalls  ::) so I wanna switch the vertical speed becuase everytime I use it thats what causes the stall..

Thank you so much  ;)

On the 2D or VC AP panel, mouse over the Vert Spd readout. In the 2D panel the up-down thumb wheel by the readout is also active.

If you have trouble finding a control, it can help to temporarily turn on 'Show Cockpit Tooltips'; Settings>Display>Aircraft tab. This will bring up a banner identifying active gauges and controls when you mouse over them.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

;D
I know how to do that just when you change your altitude it goes automatically to +1800 or -1800 how can I change that so when I set my altitude for like 10,000 feet it doesent automatically go right to +1800 fpm?
If you know what I mean..
Thanks  ;)

Right, open the 747 Aircraft.cfg, find the section on the autopilot. Where is says : default_vertical_speed=1800.0, change it to whatever you want. E.G. Changing it to 2500.0 would automatically set it too +2500 or -2500.

There's a wheel on the AP panel that lets you change it :)
