Wilga Problems

Postby BFawlty » Wed Jul 23, 2008 7:40 pm

Hi all
I have downloaded the excellent looking Wilga from here at Simviation. It was tested and said to run in FSX. The problem I'm having is that the windows from inside the cockpit are black, as in I cannot see out through them. The cockpit and interior views seem fine, and by going to external views I can see the a/c fine and can see through the windows and see the peeps inside. I am running FSX with acceleration. I have read where there are some issues with sp2, which I believe is installed with the expansion. Any suggestions or am I out of luck? Is a shame as this is a great looking model. Thanks

I hope I am wrong but your problem might be acceleration. That software package has created more issues with addon aircraft then you can shake a stick at. I for one am glad I never purchased it. It has been a royal pain it the A!!&&^%$ if you know what I mean. I think that there was a patch released that solved most of the problems so you might want to check in to that . 8-)

Hi,
after SP2 aces changed the visiblity, which is definied with the alpa channel, from white to dark/black.

identyfy the glass texture and load it with DXTbmp

http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/

seperate the alpha channel and change it to dark or black
merge the changed alpha with the texture and save it as

xxx. extended 32 bit 888-8 file

I don't understand why there are so many "FSX - SP2-ready" glass textures or black blurry propellers. To be polite, I would call it a lazy designer at work :-X
Delete the glass textures may help-
Delete the plane will help

Flight 1 has a very nice free utility that fixes this for just about every model.
