Shift+P shortly followed by (I think) 2 or 3 - left or right! Just like with opening further doors...

Once you've pressed and released (Shift+P) and the aircraft starts backing.

Press a number (no Shift required):
1-turns left 90* then continues straight back
2-turns right 90* then continues straight back
3-stops the pushback

*Numbers are those on the main keyboard, not the numpad.
*After pressing number it takes approx. 1/2 plane length before turn begins.
*Once you press (Shift+P) do not press any other keys or buttons except the number keys or the sim can lose focus on the pushback and the turns won't happen. (You can usually 'pan', with the hat switch, without consequence)
* Don't forget to release the parking brake before starting pushback.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I finally got it to work!

Patience was the issue :P

Press Shift + P.

Then 1 or 2 (on the main keyboard, not num-pad it seems).

Wait a little bit.

Tharr ya' go.

Make sure you heed the 4 points I made above...

The most important is, once you have initiated the pushback (by pressing shift+P) press only the number key(s) for the desired turn(s).

Do not press any other keys or joystick buttons except the (3) number keys or the sim lose focus (it will no longer be waiting for your number key inputs). The only way to regain focus is to use Shift+P to stop and restart the pushback.

Also, the pushback plus turn capability doesn't always work well with many addon aircraft.  Should work OK with the default aircraft, though.

well..there is a software for pushback and taxi where you can control the taxi speed and pushback distance and angle..

its at http://www.simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=69&page=1 ,the first page and with title 'FSX gauges : pushback and taxispeed control'

I'll rate the thing 9/10 !!
