I'm so confused about terrain add-ons for FSX..!

Postby skunker » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:40 am

Hi Guys,
I have the stock FSX (sp2, acceleration). I'm confused about all the options available for terrain enhancements and meshes, etc. I have stock, so what are the must-have files that I need to buy to enhance the terrain in the game?

If it means anything, I am in Texas (San Antonio) and would especially like to be able to get realistic ground textures for my area since I'll be starting flight training in real life, soon.

If someone can just point me in the right direction, I'll be forever thankful!

If you can afford it, I highly recommend GEX, and if you enjoy VFR flying, I would also recommend UTX.... ;)

And for you stick in the mud Yanks, come down south of the Equator.  Install the fantastic FTX scenery add-ons for this country and enjoy flying in a different world.

It is made by Fullterrain X - who have now joined up with the UT people for more great scenery.  Fullterrain X is a spinoff from Orbx itself a spinoff from VistaOz.  They have launched AU Blue and AU Gold which covers the south and east of Australia more or less.  It is to the quality or better than the UTs.

Also there is a bunch of freeware airports, in a single download that add to the experience with a lot more to come.

For those of us Downunder it has improved our simming a thousand times.
