For some reason my B747_400 has two sound files, a "sound" and a "soundai". When I opened each one using Notepad I found that each was "aliased" to two different sound files. I did not like the overall effect. Can I just use one and cancel the other?

All default aircraft have 2 sound folders:

sound- is used when you're flying the ac.
soundai- is used when the aircraft is flying as ai traffic.

They do not combine, so I'm not sure what 'overall effect' you're hearing..

Good to know. Maybe it's just my imagination. But how come only few aircraft have dual sound files?

Because not all are set up to be ai traffic.

AI = "Artificial Intelligence" ..  Computer controlled aircraft.
