Downloaded planes not appearing as AI craft

Postby Orion66 » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:20 pm

Hi all, I've downloaded a couple of United textures.  I put the texture folders where they're supposed to go.  I edited the cfg files properly.  They're in the game, I can pick them for my own plane, but they don't seem to show up as AI planes.  Does the order that they appear in the plane's cfg file matter to the frequency of appearance in game?
Thanks for any replies.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Alright, thanks.  More involved than I thought.  I thought what I installed were just new skins for the planes already in there.

Even a new skin must be 'programmed' to fly as ai.

Every ac (=model+skin) has a unique 'internal name' in the sim, the 'Title=' line in each [fltsim#] section of the aircrft.cfg files(s). This is the 'name' that is used to identify an ac to fly in the ai flightplans.

To get a handle on
