Cockpit Tooltips Text

Postby rikm12345 » Mon May 26, 2008 1:49 pm

Hi,

My cockpit tooltips text is appearing as very bold black text, which is unreadable, for all aircrafts.

Anyone else have this problem? as i really need to know what im hovering over sometimes.

Thanks

Rik

I have seen this same problem with a couple of aircraft not originally designed for FSX.

Possibly a font issue??

You could compare the installed fonts in your ...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Fonts\.. folder with those in the \Fonts\ folder on DVD1.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hi,

Sorry, it's actually only about half of my Aircrafts, not all of them as i originally thought. I'll have a look on their website forums as it could just be a fault of theirs, maybye a SP2 issue.

The fonts load fine on other aircrafts, so im guessing the fonts are ok.

Thanks

I have this same issue with many add-on A/C.  A fix is to go from full screen to windowed mode (Alt-Enter).  You can stretch the window out almost to full screen size.  I have no idea why windowed mode makes the text readable and full screen is all garbled.  Perhaps it is a mystery for the ages.

Windowed mode uses the Windows Desktop display drivers. Full screen mode is in Direct 3D (DirectX). This might be an issue with some video cards.

Might be a driver issue? I dont like the idea of using windowed mode, guess i'll have to suffer it for a while.

I'll do some more digging.
