My New System...What Do U Guys Think??

Postby kcamacho11 » Mon May 19, 2008 9:22 pm

I just got my new computer today but I haven't set it up yet...here are some of its specs:

3.0 GhZ, Intel Quad 2 Processor, 6 GB of RAM, 500 GB HD, nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT video card, Windows Vista Home 64-bit version.

Will this computer run FSX successfully with the graphics level set high in the game? Thanks.

Nope!  Take it back and get a terra-plop  twin stack with a greasy-matic aftermarket thing a ma giga-hurts+ memory core. and hook it up to that old tube TV with the special Radio Shack A-dapter kit.   :D

Seriously, sounds like you shouldn't have any problems.   :)

Your system will eat FSX.

My rig is pretty similar, but you have a massive amount of RAM. You will need to put in the bcedit line to make FSX use more than 2 gigs of RAM. Is it DDR3 and fast? - that will have a lot to do with performance.

My rig doesn't eat FSX, but it sure runs it pretty darn well with a lot of aircraft and scenery add-ons.

Enjoy.

I don't think he needs the edit, he has Vista 64bit.  DDR3 memory isn't that widely used yet, and I haven't seen many OEM computers use it.  If he bought an Alienware though...
