Online Headset Suggestions

I wanna buy a headset for online but ive been looking around and some reviews have been bad for the ones i want. I want one that has a covering for both ears and one of those comvertable ones. What is your suggestions?

Get a USB headset, so that you can have independent audio (I use voice) going to your headset. Standard 3.5mm jacks won't cut it unless you have a separate sound card.

I picked it up from a computer shop for 15 bucks, sound is pretty decent, a bit sweaty and tight, but great for ATC and cockpit noise.

For comfort and sound you cant beat the Speedlink 5.1 headsets, except with professional Bose products

the earpads are black velvet and never give the ear a sore spot. I have worn those for 12 hour stints and they are super comfortable. They do require the user to learn about setting up the volume levels correctly and they have a bass 'kicker' in them which creates one of the most realistic 'rumble' and bass sounds that can only be topped by very expensive Bose products. You do need a 5.1 surround able sound card to use them and get the full effect however they will still work without a 5.1 sound card.. you just wont get the fidelity and bass rumble as much

You must be careful with USB, especially USB sound. USB is a resource hog and I would avoid USB headset solutions, even the SpeedLink USB products. The one I posted above is not USB.

They do cost but worth every penny. I have their original Medusa 5.1 set purchased 3 years ago and to this day it still works perfect and is the most comfotable headset I have ever used

My 2 cents .... I just bought a Sennheiser PC156 from Newegg which works very nice ... clear and understandable (setting the engine level down helped too). As an option it has a pigtail you can attach to the cord so that if you choose you can use the USB connection option such as for a laptop. But I'm not using USB and my computer sound is from the onboard AC97. I'm a happy camper with this unit.  ;D

Mines a cyber acoustics headset she blocks out sound well and amplifies the sound in it very well and its mic is pretty high in quality (not a USB headset it plugs into the headset and mic inputs on the proccessor) my only complaint is that it gets uncomfy after a hour or so

Well i bought mine at office depot. I got a $40 pair. Logitech Clearchat USB. They work good  8-) but ive seen some there for like $70 from panasonic that looked really nice that i would of picked but i dint wanna overpay. Id say if you wanna spend $100 look online and get surround sound ones.

70 is a bit much for a mic (unless its a REAL aviation mic then its actually very important in the quality
