Joysticks/Yokes

Postby evanatorx » Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:00 pm

Hey guys.

I am thinking of upgrading my setup to a more realistic interface. I am still in limbo between a yoke and joystick. (My current joystick is a Saitek AV8R, and the right rudder is unresponsive.)

I was wondering if fsx incorporates the stick shaker warning in controller output. If so, what force feedback controllers have that feature.

Also, do the CH and Saitek yokes use a spring return system to centre the yoke?

Thanks.

Have you tried resetting or recalibrating your joystick?

It has a broken potentiometer. But that's not the point.

Stick, or yoke..its a personal preference.  I like sticks, I use the Saitek X52pro.  However I have heard that the CH yokes are good, and from my experience, most yokes do not center themselves (because they usually don't in real aircraft).

I use a saitek X45, which is a stick with a seperate throttle control for the left hand. It centers using a spring, which is too stiff in my opinion. I'm going to cut some of the spring out to loosen it

I have a ch products yoke and pedals and really like it. I have heard some bad things about the saitek yoke and decided not to get it but it is just your personal choice between yokes or joysticks.

Iv got a Saitek Force feed back stick and quite frankly its shocking the driver for it will only alow factory settings so a carnt calibrate it and the rudder is all out of wack.  Also the force feed back is rubbish compared to my old Stick a MS Sidewinder force feed back.

The Saitek also gets very hot even when not using the force feed back.

The saitek and ch product yokes do have a self centering spring.
