The aircraft load just fine but the spaces for the aircraft are missing in the aircraft selection  and the aircraft cuase other ones to go into unslectable areas

It is generally inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed

FS2004 aircraft don't generally work with FSX in my limited experience. The file structure is different. Not to say that it can't be done but there is some risk.  ;D ;D

Opps .... thinking I was thinking of FS2002 which uses the FS2002 Folder instead of Microsoft Flight Simulator X. But I have moved the aircraft out of 2002 folder and put it in the Microsoft Flight Simulator/SimObjects/Airplanes Folder with success.

To fix your aircraft thumbnail not showing up "properly" in the select aircraft window (I'm assuming you at least see something?)  Try this: On the first flight from an Outside View do a printscreen with the V key. Open this up in a graphics program such as Photoshop & clip out the portion you want to show and then resize about 400 pixels wide. Then with the select tool set to 220x110 move the dotted "select" to the area that will appear in FSX and do an Edit/Copy. Then do a New and a new project the correct size will appear. Again ... Edit ... but Paste. Save As a jpg file with the name Thumbnail.jpg and then move to the "Textures" Folder for the correct airplane. The next time you select an aircraft you should see the thumbnail.

I did this on the AOPA Cherokee Six and the AOPA Commander so I suspect you could do it with any of the aircraft if you wanted a nicer and more realistic picture.  8-)

I can't believe you have 2,004 aircraft.  I only have about 30   :-[
